Tactics: a practical example
A move that attacks a queen may seem strong until the opponent has a checking move that wins more material. Tactical accuracy requires examining forcing replies for both sides, not merely confirming your own intended sequence.
How to use the idea in your games
Start with checks, captures, and direct threats, but do not stop there. Quiet moves can be tactical when they create an unavoidable threat or remove the opponent's defenses.
