Snapshot date and coverage
The ranking tables on this website show the top ten displayed players from five FIDE September 2026 lists: open classical, women’s classical, junior classical, open rapid, and open blitz. The source pages were checked on September 5, 2026. This is a static website; the numbers do not refresh automatically.
Each ranking page links directly to its source and names the category in the table caption. There are 37 distinct players across the five excerpts. A profile reports only the categories where that player appears in an excerpt. Absence from another excerpt does not mean that the player is unrated.
What is transcribed and what is not
We show source order, player name, listed federation code, and displayed rating. Equal ratings retain the source’s displayed order. We do not invent recent movements, peak ratings, game results, age, biographies, sponsorships, or historical charts.
Federation codes are sporting affiliation labels from the source. They should not be read as verified citizenship, nationality, or current residence. Names in educational profiles do not imply a relationship with or endorsement by the person.
Published ratings versus live estimates
Published-list ratings and provisional live estimates answer different questions. A live service may calculate estimated changes during an event before the next publication. We do not make that calculation here and never label the snapshot tables “live.”
Follow the FIDE source links for a subsequent list. Compare only the same rating system, time control, and selection category. Read chess ratings explained for common comparison errors.
Corrections and updates
To report a suspected error, email [email protected] with the affected page, the field in question, the relevant publication date, and a primary-source reference. Do not send private information about a player.
An update should change the displayed snapshot label, affected tables and profiles, methodology date, and structured modification metadata together. A new publication should not be silently mixed with figures from a different month.
